Where Did Great Go?
We’re all good at something
Everyone knows good without ever seeing it. However, greatness has to be experienced in order for it to be recognized. It seems that everywhere we look, everyone is good at something, but finding someone that is great at something seems to be quite the challenge. This results from people feeling accomplished by achieving good. Well, let me tell you something: Good is not an accomplishment; good is the result of doing something enough to be comfortable with it.
Good can also translate to “what is expected.” Good service at a restaurant does not qualify my waiter for a tip, because when I go out to eat I expect the service to be good. Great service, however, will usually net my waiter something extra because great is rare and extra effort must be put forth to achieve it.
Think about this and try and apply it to everything you do. It won’t go unnoticed.
